Match Preview Cofis v Bala 25.8.2025

Match Preview...

This Bank Holiday Monday sees a full Cymru Premier League fixture schedule and amongst the matches will be what is known in some quarters as the 'Gwynedd Derby'.

Caernarfon will play Bala at the Go Goodwins Stadium in an intriguing looking match which sees the sides lining up against each other with squads that have changed significantly since their last encounter, a 2-0 victory for the Cofis at the Lakesiders' Maes Tegid ground.

Bala are under new management these days, with Stephen Fisher having taken over the hot seat from Colin Caton during the summer and they have started the campaign solidly, with victory on penalties over Guilsfield in the Nathaniel MG Cup, a home draw with Flint and a 1-0 victory on friday over Colwyn Bay.

Caernarfon have had a very positive start to their season and it has been interesting to see that, despite losing last season's top scorer Louis Lloyd to St Johnstone recently, they have in fact proven extremely prolific in froont of goal thus far. Sixteen goals in their first four matches, including three in the league, have seen Richard Davies' men advance in the Nathaniel MG Cup and clinch seven points from their first three league fixtures. Friday evening's exciting 5-2 victory at Flint had the added highlight of seeing a return to the club's colours of Sion Bradley, who is on loan from The New Saints.

The match kicks off at 2:30pm.
